Are you still in high school and graduating this spring and want to apply for an internship in the fall? Fill in your most recent grade point average score. In other words, it will be an estimated average grade where you add your completed courses to the grade you expect in the courses you have not yet completed. You should not include extra merit points in your GPA. If your final average rating varies a little from what you filled in, don't worry.
The exact dates of the internship vary from employer to employer.
The spring semester usually starts in Jan/Feb and ends in May/June.
The autumn term usually starts in August/September and ends in connection with the Christmas holidays.
The internship is always 4 months long and is full-time (about 8h/day, Mon-Fri). The employer will decide the exact start date, so talk to them about what applies to your internship if you are called for an interview.
The salary is SEK 18 182 /month and applies from April 1, 2024. The salary level for 2024 has been agreed between the employers' organisation Teknikföretagen and the trade unions Unionen and the Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers.
You can apply for a maximum of 15 places per semester, and we recommend that you apply as many as possible to increase your chances of being admitted. Employers will not be able to see if you have applied to other positions.
If an employer you have applied to is interested in your application, they will contact you themselves via email and phone for an interview. If you are offered an internship by several different companies, you choose which of them you want to say yes to.
All employers involved in the project are listed on the tekniksprånget.se under the tab "Participating employers". However, not all employers have the opportunity to take on interns every semester. This can be due to various things, but that is why the list of "Participating Employers" on our website differs from the list of Eligible Employers in our application portal.
The places that are available to apply for are posted continuously in the application portal the month before each application period starts. To see all available seats, it is best to check exactly when the period starts.
To be able to apply for internships, you must have a CV uploaded to your account (preferably in PDF format). In it, you write about your experiences. Volunteering, summer jobs, school projects or awards are good to include. Do you lack work experience? Don't worry! Are you the one who helps the family when there are IT problems, or is your favorite subject in school physics? Write it down. Interests and qualities are just as important to include in a CV.
Here is a template for your CV
Download it and fill in with your details. Then upload it to your account to be attached to your applications (preferably in PDF format)
For each application you make, you need to fill in a field where you answer why you are applying and why you would be a good fit for the position. It works a bit like a cover letter. If you haven't written a cover letter or listed previous experience before, there are helpful tips here. Don't forget that you can adapt the text of why you are applying for the place for each application, it is usually appreciated by the employers who participate.
The text for search motivation should preferably be at least 5 sentences. If you write too little, employers have a hard time getting anything out of it, but if you write too long, it can easily become content that is redundant or repetitive. The field can be filled with a maximum of 2500 characters including spaces.
CV
For each application you create, you must also attach a CV. You can attach a CV either as a file (preferably as a PDF) or as a link (e.g. to an open document available online), but keep in mind that many employers primarily look at the information you have filled in the fields with your application.
When you register on Tekniksprånget's website, you fill in information about your previous experience and this field is also automatically included in your applications.
Here you describe whether you have previous work experience or experience from, for example, association involvement, sports movements and volunteer assignments. It should preferably be linked to knowledge/lessons you have gained that can be used during the internship.
See more tips on what and how you can write here.
You have the option to link to a presentation video about yourself to complement your application. This is not a requirement, but an opportunity for those who want to. In that case, upload the video to a site such as YouTube and link to it.
Unless otherwise stated in the contract between the intern and the employer, the Annual Leave Act applies. If the trainee does not take annual leave, it is recommended that holiday pay is paid at the end of the employment.
Admissions take place on an ongoing basis after the application portal closes and the employers themselves contact and conduct interviews with the applicants they are interested in.
Some employers start their recruitment already during the application period, so please apply well in advance of the last day so you have the opportunity to participate in the recruitment processes earlier.
It is important that you are contactable by email and phone during the application period and especially afterwards. Always get in touch with employers who get in touch with you, both if you are interested in the position or if you have chosen to go to someone else.
There is no exact date for notification of a place (such as on the application to university) since admission to Tekniksprånget's places takes place on an ongoing basis as regular job interviews. Usually, we are able to give notice to most people in January for the spring internship and July for the autumn internship, but we can never guarantee that all internships are filled by then because the participating employers have different processes for recruitment that can take different lengths of time.
When an employer has completed their recruitment, an email is sent to everyone who applied to them but was not accepted. If, on the other hand, you have been admitted and it has been marked in the portal, you will not receive an email about the other places you have applied to.
The e-mails may end up in your spam folder, so make sure to go in and look there if you can't find e-mails from us!
You can always see the status of your applications by logging into your account and going to "My applications".
If you are offered a place but realize that you want to do something else, you can decline it. Just keep in mind that there are many who apply, so try to decline as early as possible so that someone else can take your place.
Yes, you can. You can apply for an internship in Tekniksprånget without it affecting your chances of being admitted to a programme.
On the other hand, the internship is full-time, Mon-Fri 8h/day, so it is difficult to combine with studies at the same time if you are admitted to both.
Yes, you can apply as many times as you like as long as you are no more than 21 years old and have not received a place before.
No, you can only do Tekniksprånget once.
The field "Any other information to the employer" is optional where you can write, for example, if you are only available after a certain date. You can leave it blank if you don't have anything special you need to notify the employer about.
To edit or supplement an application, go to "My applications" in your account and select "Show all", then click on the application's unique application number. This will take you to the individual application and you can see what information is filled in and which files are attached. You can edit the information in your applications until the portal closes (May 6 / Nov 6).
When you create a new application, your uploaded CV file will automatically be added as an attachment. However, if you want to add more than one file, you have to do it manually. You can go to each individual application you have made to see which files are included and add more.
Access an application through the "My applications" menu and then click on the application's unique number to see which files are attached to it.
NB! The Pages format can only be opened on Apple products, which most employers don't use. Feel free to use the PDF format for attachments instead.
You can write in either Swedish or English, it depends on what you are most comfortable with. If, on the other hand, you want to apply for an advertisement that is in English, we recommend that you also write the application in English.
