Duties of Project Management Engineers

Help develop a project plan and support project managers. For example, assist with research and analysis in projects in energy efficiency or map biomedical actors in Sweden. 

Assist with mathematical calculations regarding investment calculations of regional infrastructure projects. 

Assist in the construction of an "experience station", where people can come and experience what it is like to sit in a cab while drilling (both vibrations and sounds are simulated) 

Be responsible for projects and studies. For example, evaluate new test methods, design an environmental station, be responsible for department relocation, produce a new collection catalogue for a certain type of tool and be responsible for the production of the catalogue. 

Running smaller internal projects such as structuring the department's document database and writing instructions. 

Far-reaching projects 

A project that runs for a long period of time in addition to other tasks. It is advantageous to carry it out together with at least one other intern. Example: 

• Diary in which the intern writes down what happens every day. Provides a good overview and serves as a basis for briefings with the supervisor. 
• Evaluate the purchase of a new machine when the existing one did not produce the desired result. During the review of the value chain, it emerged that the reason why there were lumps in the machine was that a subcontractor had changed the packaging for the powder used in the production. The company thus did not need to acquire a new machine. 
• Operational evaluation where gaps between operators and managers are evaluated and suggestions for possible improvements are presented. 
• Prospect a new construction including finding a location, target group, developing a prototype, making calculations and presenting. 
• Develop mobile applications that support the business, for example over difficult abbreviations within the organization.
