Engineer in real estate
Working with real estate as an engineer means, among other things, streamlining and planning. This may involve reviewing energy consumption and climate impact, planning new building projects or streamlining technology in hospitals.
Examples of tasks in real estate:
Develop proposals for how sustainability reports can look in an annual report.
Inventory all lease contracts for premises and review who is responsible for ventilation with the aim of recovering responsibility for ventilation. Inventory, compile and make calculations on the financial benefits of the employer being able to control ventilation use (e.g. with regard to misuse) and partly on calculating the climate impact (e.g. if all kindergartens turn off the ventilation at 6 p.m. every day).
Inventory plots for new construction, which meant analysis of plot maps to see what opportunities there are to build new and what could be built.
Work on updating maintenance systems, an administrative task that has involved going through the documents that exist regarding renovations and new buildings and entering documents into an IT system.
Work with drawing management, which meant retrieving drawings from the City Planning Office's archives and managing CAD services.
Assist project managers in feasibility studies and participate in the design of reconstruction projects.
Administrative tasks such as archiving digital drawings and entering tasks into the employer's maintenance system.
Take part in the work in the administration by shadowing a caretaker, property manager or property engineer for a short period of time.
Mapping the energy consumption in the company's properties and, if possible, making suggestions for improvement. The work includes carrying out a quality control to ensure that the contracted energy corresponds to the actual consumption of the property. The work may involve on-site inspections and drawings.
Work with issues relating to new construction, daily operation and maintenance of the county council's properties in the county. With the hospital as one of the largest customers, insight is created into issues such as heating and sanitation technology, air, steam and cooling, and medical gases.
Assist in projects related to property technology, energy efficiency and minimizing the climate impact of housing. Participate in the production of new housing, renovations and in the maintenance and operation of existing buildings. Work with procurement managers, environmental scientists, engineers, technicians and construction project managers. Work with design and digital drawings.
